
Hype is a personal thing, if you get excited for a movie and it doesn't end up living to that standard, then that's your fault. Back in the day, I thought it was a terrible movie simply because it didn't live up to the hype. I doubt anyone knows about this, but The Blair Witch Project was one of the first disappointments in my younger days as a film fanatic. At first the group is hopeful, especially when two locals act as guides through the dark and winding woods. Many believe her disappearance 17 years earlier is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. What sets it apart is its effectively-established horror/mystery atmosphere and story. It's not terribly long - essentially a single "level" you should be able to solve in a session of play. Many of the puzzles have more than one possible solution, which deals with some of the frustratingly linear play that can sometimes sour the enjoyment of adventure games. Simple mechanics, intriguing storyĪt its heart, Blameless is a familiar type of adventure game: collect objects and figure out how to use them in combination to get to new areas of the building. Collecting objects and solving puzzles around the building will help you piece together the clues and learn the identity of the mysterious shadowy figure who seems to be following you. When you find a suspicious bloodstain in the building, however, the job turns into a mystery.
